The World

A wasteland that fights back

NovaWildVault is a handcrafted open-world survival looter built by a small studio on Clarendon Street in South Melbourne. Instead of endless energy timers, we built a living map that reacts to you: storms reroute patrols, tamed beasts remember who fed them, and vault security scales with how greedy your crew has been.

Everything runs offline-first, so a tram ride through Albert Park is enough to plan a raid, stash your haul, and log out clean. Play five minutes or five hours — the wild keeps your progress either way.

  • Fully offline-first — raid without a signal, sync when you reconnect
  • No pay-to-win: every weapon and beast is earnable through play
  • Seasonal resets that reshape the map every 8 weeks

How to Play

From install to first raid in minutes

Four steps take you from a fresh download to holding your own patch of the wasteland.

  1. 01

    Install & sign in

    ~2 minutes

Grab the 18 MB base client, sign in with a nickname, and skip every ad. Assets stream in the background while the tutorial loads.

  2. 02

    Build your crew

    Day 1

Pick a starting archetype — Scrapper, Tamer, or Runner — then recruit up to three companions with their own skill trees and grudges.

  3. 03

    Run your first vault

    15–20 min

Scout patrol routes, disable the copper locks, and haul out loot before the alarm resets. Every vault is hand-placed, never procedurally spammed.

  4. 04

    Hold the wild

    Ongoing

Fortify a base, tame beasts to guard it, and defend against rival crews during the nightly server reset. Survive the season to bank permanent rewards.

The offline raids are perfect for my commute on the 96 tram. I cracked two vaults before Port Melbourne and synced my loot the second I got wifi. No timers begging me to pay.

I have poured 60 hours into taming beasts and never spent a cent. My armoured wombat guards the base gate now. This is how mobile games should feel.

The nightly reset battles are genuinely stressful in the best way. Losing a vault stings, taking one back feels incredible. Runs buttery smooth on my three-year-old phone.

Downloaded it expecting the usual ad-riddled junk. Instead I got a proper survival game under 20 MB. The seasonal map redesign kept me around long past week one.

Support actually replies. I hit a sync bug, emailed the studio, and had a fix in two days. You can tell a small Melbourne team is behind this.

The Founders Pack was fair — cosmetics and a stash upgrade, zero combat advantage. I still beat paying players because it rewards planning, not wallets.
